Bill Text: INCREASING THE HANDICAPPED PARKING FINE AND SIGNAGE REQUIREMENTS
In the Year Two Thousand and Three The City of Nashua ordains that Chapter 13 “Motor Vehicles and Traffic”, Article V “Parking and Stopping”, Division 4 “No Parking, Standing, Stopping in Specified Areas”, Section 13-290 “Handicapped parking”, subsections (c) and (d), of the Nashua Revised Ordinances, as amended, is hereby further amended by deleting the struckthrough language and adding the new underlined language as follows: “(2) Any parking space, whether on public or private property, specifically designated for the physically handicapped shall be indicated by means of a sign with the international symbol of accessibility (and indicating “van accessible” if applicable) mounted high enough so it can be seen while a vehicle is parked in the space. stating that the space is reserved for the physically handicapped or displaying the wheelchair symbol as defined in RSA 275-C:9. The dimensions of such spaces shall be clearly delineated by means of sign arrows attached to sign posts. (3) Any person violating this section shall be fined two hundred dollars ($200.00)one hundred dollars ($100.00) and if such fine is not paid within seven (7) days, the fine shall be increased by ten dollars ($10.00) to a total of two hundred and ten dollars ($210.00)one hundred and ten dollars ($110.00).”
