Bill Text: AMENDING THE COMPOSITION OF THE MINE FALLS PARK ADVISORY COMMITTEE
In the Year Two Thousand and Three The City of Nashua ordains that Chapter 15 “Parks, Recreation and Sports”, Article VI “Mines Falls Park”, Section 15-70 “Establishment, composition; duties”, of the Nashua Revised Ordinances, as amended, is hereby further amended by deleting the struckthrough language and adding the new underlined language as follows: “Sec. 15-70. Establishment, composition; duties. The Mines Falls Park Advisory Committee for the City of Nashua is hereby established to promote the use, appreciation and upkeep of Mines Falls Park. It shall advise the Mayor and Superintendent of Parks and Recreation as to the maintenance and development of Mines Falls Park. The mayor shall appoint, subject to the approval of the board of aldermen, an advisory committee to be known as the Mines Falls Park Advisory Committee. The committee shall consist of a minimum of seven (7) members, and shall have no limit as to the maximum number of members. The committee shall have a quorum when four (4) members are present. Two (2) members will be appointed for the length of their tenure on the conservation commission and Nashua River Water Shed Association, respectively, and five (5) the remaining members will be appointed at large and will serve for three (3) year terms. as follows: two (2) members will serve for three (3) years, two (2) members will serve for two (2) years, and one (1) member will serve for one (1) year. No member of the advisory committee shall be a member of the board of aldermen or any employee of the board of public works/parks and recreation department. The committee shall elect a chairperson from among its members, chosen from one of the citizen representatives. The committee shall establish its by-laws and establish regular times for meetings and the orderly conduct of business. The members of the committee shall serve without compensation. Each member of the committee shall hold office until his/her successor is appointed and approved, unless sooner removed.”
