Updated: 4/3/2013 Sewer 2012 Project: Pleasant and Ash Street The remaining construction work on the Water and Sewer project 2012 has started with new water and sewer on Pleasant Street. That work is complete with the exception of the roadway restoration, which will begin on Monday, May 20th. The initial roadway restoration will consist of grinding and base paving the roadway. It should be completed by Thursday, May 23rd, pending favorable weather. Final paving on Pleasant Street will not occur till late summer.
The contractor, Albanese D&S, is also working on the installation of new water and sewer utilities on Ash Street. That work will likely last until the end of May. Note that on Thursday, May 23rd, there will night work to connect the new water to the main on West Hollis Street. Work is anticipated to occur during the hours of 7pm till 5am (expect delays). Following the water and sewer work, the road will be pulverized and base paved. Final paving will not occurr till late summer.
The road will be closed to thru traffic on both Pleasant and Ash Streets during this work. Detour maps are provided below. Local residents will have access the their homes with the exception of when base paving is occurring, the road cannot be driven untill several hours have passed to allow the new pavement to cool properly. When the paving is occurring and residents need to leave within several hours, we ask that residents park their cars on an adjacent street. As a courtesy, the Contractor will attempt to inform any resident with a car in the driveway that they should move their car if they need to leave while the work is occurring.
