The next regularly-scheduled election will be the General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. At that time, voters will cast ballots for the Board of Aldermen, Board of Education, Board of Public Works, Fire Commission, and Ward Election Officials (Moderator, Ward Clerk, and Selectmen).

Voters interested in having their names placed on the ballot, for one of the above offices, must file sufficient nominating petitions with the City Clerk between Tuesday, August 25 at 8:00 a.m. and Friday, September 4 at 5:00 p.m. Fifty (50) certified nominating petitions will be required for a citywide candidate; fifteen (15) certified nominating petitions will be required for a ward candidate.

City ordinances require the filing of campaign receipt and expenditure reports twenty (20) days prior to the date of the election and again by December 1st following the election. Campaign finance reporting forms appear below:
